At Viterra, my focus as Manager of Application Development EMEA is on spearheading the evolution and maintenance of our core ERP systems and ESB integrations. Outsystems Developer Cloud (ODC) is currently being used for improving Viterra specific work processes and Mulesoft for implementing the future integration architecture within Viterra.

After Medicore merged with Cure4 and Fierit into Tenzinger, a reorganization of all existing development and operations teams across the new company was implemented in the beginning of 2021. During this transition period I had the responsibility for several large development programs across Tenzinger. Especially setting up the large “Zorgprestatiemodel” program, that impacts both the Medicore and Fierit ECD’s, into a new fully SAAS product using the new Tenzinger micro-service architecture. Another program has been the selection of a new hosting partner for the new Tenzinger organization and the subsequent migration of all hosted customer environments to this new provider.

Responsible for the development of all software products within Medicore. Manager of the Development and DevOps department and member of the Medicore MT.Within the Development Department several Scrum teams consisting of front- and backend software engineers, functional designers and test engineers work together to make the best Healthcare EPD of the Netherlands.I have guided the development department in the transition from outsourcing in India to insourcing in Utrecht, to get a better grip on the quality of the products and development process. I also had the existing software base audited and renewed the existing Scrum process. By getting the development and delivery of the long-delayed MC EDP 3.0 back on track in this way, Medicore has been able to migrate 100% of all customers to their latest generation of the EPD within one year. More recent, the platform of MC EPD and the underlying server architecture has been technologically renewed and innovative SAAS and multi-tenant solutions have been realized in the form of the Wellbee portals. Furthermore, the traditional EPD application has now been further broken down by means of micro services and micro frontends.

Within the Local Taxes business unit of the Centric division Public Solutions, as an MT member I was responsible for the Software Development department. In this department, more than 40 employees, such as developers, designers, testers, project leaders and configuration managers, work on several different IT product lines for municipalities, water boards and tax offices. To be able to really integrate these traditionally diverse products into a single, future-proof product in the coming years, a shift took place within the BU at the end of 2011 from a product group structure to a department structure. After my Centric Management Development program, I was asked to give substance to this reorganization by becoming responsible for a new product-overarching Software Development department. Within the MT I worked together with my colleagues from Support, Implementations and Product Management. Maintenance and expansion of the existing software products took place within the teams in Gouda and Son. Several specific new construction projects were developed under my responsibility in Iasi, Centric Romania. The products cover a diverse range of technologies, from the more traditional such as Uniface and Oracle Forms to more modern .NET MVC and Angular JS. Finding and retaining the right people with the right knowledge and experience was therefore an important challenge. Under my leadership, a transition took place over the past three years to a further professionalization of the development processes and a complete switch from waterfall to Agile and Scrum. A new technical future vision has also been put in place for the local tax products, to be able to transfer the traditional Oracle Forms products to modern .NET techniques and mobile apps in a controlled and hybrid manner.

As software development manager and member of the MT of the housing corporations business unit of Centric IT Solutions, I was responsible for a department of max. 50 employees, divided over a number of different product teams. The group of employees was divided into coordinators, programmers, designers, testers and conversion specialists. The Housing Corporations business unit sells and implements an entire portfolio of software products for the housing corporation industry. The software development department is responsible for developing and maintaining the core products of the business unit: WOCAS4all (mid-life cycle) and various related products such as internet portals and mobile applications. The primary product WOCAS4all has been developed according to the Model Driven Architecture (MDA) concept in a Centric specific development environment (Pronto) with which other products are also developed. The newer adjacent products are developed within the .NET framework. The business unit was reorganized in mid-2005, after which I was recruited for the software development department. In the beginning, my focus for the department was therefore mainly on redesigning the development teams and on analyzing, assessing and further professionalizing the development processes used. In recent years, several large customers at WOCAS4all have been successfully implemented, requiring very challenging new construction projects within the software department.
