In my current role, I utilize my drug discovery experience to catalyze research to find a cure and improve the lives of those affected by tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC).TSC is a rare genetic disorder that causes non-malignant tumors to form in many different organs, primarily in the brain, eyes, heart, kidney, skin and lungs. The aspects of TSC that most strongly impact quality of life are generally associated with the brain: seizures, developmental delay, intellectual disability and autism. However, the incidence and severity of the various aspects of TSC can vary widely between individuals—even between identical twins. The TSC Alliance is dedicated to finding a cure for TSC while improving the lives of those affected, and I am committed to helping achieve that goal.In addition to science, I enjoy time with my wife and best friend of 35+ years, whether traveling, taking in a baseball game, or enjoying a glass of wine or a local craft brew.
