Ecological researcher at Kew Gardens, investigating the link between biodiversity and carbon sequestration across UK habitats, to better understand the value of nature. Previously a PhD researcher at the Centre for Doctoral Training in Quantitative Methods in Ecology and Evolution, based at Imperial College London. During my PhD, I have focused on understanding the evolutionary drivers of avian sexual signals, with a particular focus on understanding global patterns of sex differences across species. I mainly rely on Bayesian statistical methods and GIS analysis to investigate why certain species evolve elaborated traits, using large trait datasets I have compiled during my PhD.More generally, I am interested in using large trait datasets to investigate the impact of human-mediated changes on biodiversity loss, incorporating knowledge of evolutionary methods and natural history to improve biodiversity monitoring and policy implementation. I also enjoy teaching, and have been an active part of various undergraduate and masters courses. During this time, I have independently designed a 3rd year practical course in macro-ecology, and supervised both undergraduate and masters dissertation projects.
