In addition to role as operations manager, oversaw the initial construction of new ready mixed concrete plant and all the site work involved.

My tenure in the concrete industry covers 29 years beginning with my family business in 1984 where I served as president. In 1999 we sold the business to APAC-Carolina and there served as an area manager where I managed 2 concrete plants as well as generating sales. In 2004, APAC sold to Ready Mixed Concrete Co. where I started as a plant manager in Florence, SC for 2 years until I had the opportunity to move to Columbia, SC and serve as their customer service manager. There I managed a central dispatch team that scheduled concrete orders to meet on-time deliveries the most economical way without sacrificing service and quality. After one year of that, I was promoted to commercial sales manager where I developed and maintained relationships with customers, as well as set the pricing of concrete on construction projects. Two years later I was promoted to regional manager of the Columbia area where I was responsible for the operations of 4 ready mixed concrete plants supervising 30 employees. In 2010, Ready Mixed Concrete sold to ARGOS and they combined the Columbia, Charlotte, NC and Augusta, GA areas. I then took on the position of sales manager. This position was all encompassing from concrete sales and reports to supervising employees.

My responsibilities included managing the operations of two ready mixed concrete plants . I supervised two plant managers and 12 production employees. I also generated sales and negotiated prospective jobs as well as maintaining relationships with customers.

As president of Marion Concrete Co., Inc., I was responsible for all aspects of the business from operations to sales. I developed company personnel policies and standard operating procedures, as well as enforcing them. I implemented corporate plans for production and analyzed financial reports.I monitored raw material and labor costs. I quoted concrete on construction projects.
