Having strived to obtain globally and highly recognized, advanced industry qualifications, I have endeavored to work in various sectors of the Insurance and Risk Management field so as to build a solid foundation to gain formidable experience to enable me to adapt to any industry function for risk analysis or underwriting. As a member of a team or on an individual basis, fueled by a strong sense of determination, focus and success, I ensure that any task is completed above expectation and to detailed accuracy. Beginning my career as an Assistant Underwriter at a direct Insurance company in 2006 (COLFIRE), I quickly worked my way up the corporate ladder to attain the position of Underwriter and becoming a members of a very specialized team assigned to Niche, Specialty Lines and VIP lines of business. I simultaneously completed the Dip CII and MBA - Finance qualifications at COLFIRE. Seeking the opportunity to enhance my experience I moved to the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago in the capacity of Insurance and Risk Management Officer. This exposed me to the client side of Insurance and Risk Management having now had to obtain competitive insurance cover, conduct risk surveys and asset valuations, compile risk registers for individual business units and proposed a captive insurer for the company. The need to advance my education propelled me to pursue the MSc Insurance and Risk Management at Cass Business School in London where I specialized in Alternative Risk Transfer, Aviation and Captives. On an international level, I accepted the position of Underwriter at Trust Re - Bahrain where I am currently overseeing the Reinsurance Facultative Property and Construction portfolio for the entire African continent which extends into other cross-functional Insurance classes of business. I am currently finalizing my studies for the completion of The Institutes - Associate in Reinsurance qualification and The CII’s - FCII qualification.
