Rob Alias is of the generation of DJs who learned and developed their technical skills with vinyl and cassette editing, moving on to embrace CDJs and computer software. Being a keen fan of early DJ mixing culture, and the eclectic range of early black pirate radio stations in London, Rob is able to mix, match and scratch across all available formats and music platforms.The 'Beats & Pieces Show' continues the tradition of true eclecticism, championing everything from Jazz, Rap, Soul, R&B, Reggae, House and the musical points between. All the 'Beats & Pieces' mixes played on the show are performed live with no prerecorded editing, thereby capturing and encouraging the interplay of the mix and the listening audience.When not listening to music Rob will be writing about it, reflecting his passion to improve the contextualization of music too often ignored or marginalized. Rob also has extensive experience of organizing and curating live music events of every size and range.
