After 25 years of work experience principally in criminal in the High Court of Justiciary detailed below, at the age of 51 I took semi-retirement and have a number of small appointments. I am a member of the FA Anti-Discriminatory Disciplinary Commission mainly at County level where I chair anti-discriminatory sports tribunals which deal with situations where participants in the sport have conducted themselves in a discriminatory manner. I am a Director of the Scottish Youth Football Association, Scotland. Obviously I have an interest in football including grassroots football and anti-discrimination law and diversity.Using the oratory skills I developed in court and other tribunals, I have now become a Celebrant conducting funerals and legal marriages with the Humanist Society of Scotland, an organisation which maintains high standards for celebrants providing a fitting tribute in a non-religious context.
