(Employed as a Lead Operations Technician) Employed to operate a biomass combined heat and power plant within a small team. Initially brought into this role at the early stages during the mobilisation period. I have responsibility for the operation of all plant on this site which include: CFB boiler/Steam turbine/Generator/ Water treatment plant/Balance of plant/Fuel handling systems/Air cooled condenser and an Auxiliary package boiler plant whilst using metso DCS & Siemens PCS7. Duties also have included the creation of local operating instructions, creating plant equipment identification lists and creating risk assessments. During my employment in this role I have undertaken extensive theory and practical training from company vendors and Rwe Npower. Working alongside contractor commissioning engineers, assisting and becoming accredited to run the plant has also been a part of this role. Safety controller authorised (SAP) putting people to work under the safety rules permit system.

Working in this renewable energy company, roles include building and fitting parts and assemblies for wave power generators including hydraulic motors, rams, valves, manifolds, hard pipes, accumulators, air inflation systems, nitrogen systems and hoses. Also working with R&D on testing and improving hydraulic systems. Other tasks include maintaining and servicing site equipment. As well as my main duties I was heavily involved in health and safety which included: being a member of the health and safety committee, safety representative, first aider and member of the confined space rescue team.
