As the Deputy Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access, I am committed to ensuring diversity and equal opportunity in all facets of state employment. With over 17 years of experience in the public sector, I have spearheaded the development and implementation of affirmative action and diversity plans and activities designed to eliminate discriminatory barriers in the workplace, remedy the effects of past discriminatory practices, and recruit, hire, develop, promote, and retain employees who are members of under-represented groups.While implementing DEIA initiatives established by the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity, I partner closely with Secretariat HR Business Partners, executive leadership in Labor Relations, and Legal teams to manage civil rights complaints. I collaborate with the Center of Expertise on civil rights investigations. I serve as project lead for the Secretariat-wide LGBTQ+ Inclusive Workplace training, in close partnership with the Massachusetts Commission of LGBTQ+ Youth. I have a proven track record of overseeing and managing HR divisions, coordinating and delivering training, and developing strong working relationships. I drive the adoption of team best practices and look for opportunities to streamline internal procedures.
