Secretariat Deputy Director Of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, And Access
CurrentMy role fosters a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access while driving employee engagement across Secretariat agencies. In this capacity, I work closely with the Secretariat Director to ensure fair and equitable practices in employee appointment, assignment, evaluation, and compensation. Strategic Leadership and ImplementationI design and implement DEIA strategies by identifying key opportunities and gaps and driving the vision and strategy throughout the Secretariat. This involves overseeing compliance with Executive Order 592 and state and federal employment laws, and managing the creation and implementation of the MRC Affirmative Action (AA) plan.Policy Review and ComplianceI review HR policies, practices, and programs related to recruitment, hiring, onboarding, coaching, mentoring, performance management, retention, and service delivery to ensure compliance with DEIA standards. Additionally, I assist the Director in drafting the Secretariat’s annual AA narrative and oversee the approval process for agencies’ AA and Diversity plans.Stakeholder Engagement and TrainingI partner with various stakeholders, including the Secretariat Chief Human Resources Office, The Center for Staff Development, Legal Counsel, and HR Business partners, to assess employees’ DEIA learning needs and design comprehensive training programs. I also coordinate the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to identify DEIA gaps and opportunities for improvement.In addition to these key responsibilities, I provide guidance to departmental managers and supervisors, manage a team of 5 DEIA departmental staff, and serve as the Secretariat Director’s designee in their absence. My role is integral to ensuring that EOHHS remains committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace for all employees.
