With a lifelong passion for the automotive industry sparked by a fascination with how things work and a desire to be part of a rapidly evolving field, I started my journey as a Diesel Mechanic in my teens, completing my apprenticeship and gaining hands-on experience. After taking a brief break, I returned as a Parts Advisor, where I gained extensive knowledge in inventory management, customer service, and brand-specific parts logistics while working with Mazda, BMW, Land Rover, and Jaguar brands in Darwin. Since moving to Melbourne in 1999, I've dedicated my career to Penfold Motors, working my way up to become the Parts Operations Manager for brands such as Audi, Mazda, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Suzuki & Isuzu Ute.My role is driven by a commitment to efficiency, problem-solving, and innovation in system processes. As a power user and system administrator of Dealer Management Systems, including Auto-It and Pentana, I was instrumental in the initial setup of Auto-It when we transitioned from Pentana in 2014, overcoming challenges related to data migration and system integration to ensure a smooth transition and improved operational efficiency. I continue to enhance our systems for greater efficiency, utilizing tools like SAP Crystal Reports and appeon InfoMaker to build dynamic reports that keep our operations running smoothly.I hold the Audi Certified Parts Manager credential, demonstrating my understanding of forecasting methodologies and the competitive landscape of OEM and aftermarket sectors. In addition, I manage WHS/OHS for our warehouse, ensuring safety standards are met through regular toolbox meetings, and I also serve as a department site page builder of our 365 SharePoint Intranet site.My leadership style is focused on policy and procedure, and I strive to motivate my team by fostering an environment of collaboration and idea-sharing.
