About Robert Auld
When I think of videos games, what stands out to me the most is the experience the player has while playing. Whether it is finally managing to solve a tricky puzzle, or finishing a climactic shootout in a high-octane climax – these moments always stand out to me. As a designer, it is my dream to aid in the creation of these memorable moments. Specializing as a quality designer, I work to understand the mindset of the target audience and create scripted events and gameplay – all while ensure and maintaining the desired player experience. I have experience working in Unreal Development Kit, Unreal Engine 4, Game Maker Studio and Unity. My scripting knowledge includes Kismet, Blueprint, GML and JavaScript. I prefer to use a pen and paper to design and sketch ideas - and I particularly enjoy using flowcharts to illuminate on the player mindset throughout the experience. I also have experience playtesting experience across many different genres and game types, ranging from a student developed multiplayer horror game, physical board games, and a wide variety of prototype games created by peers and classmates.
