Mr. Bachman is a Structural Engineer with over 40 years of experience in the design, analysis, construction, evaluation and repair of commercial, nuclear fuel reprocessing, nuclear waste storage, cogeneration power and heavy industrial facilities located domestically and oversees. He is a nationally recognized expert in the field of earthquake engineering and has played a leading role in the development of seismic provisions for national standards and building codes during the past 15 years.For over 25 years, Mr. Bachman was a member of Flour Daniel and served as department manager for the Civil/Structural Engineering Dept. for 11 years. During this period, Flour was one of the largest engineering, procurement and construction contractors in the US whose primary focus was the design and construction of large heavy industrial facilities throughout the world. Mr. Bachman has significant involvement in professional society seismic code development activities. He chaired SEAOC State Seismology Committee during the development of 1997 UBC. Since 1992, he has been a member of NEHRP Provisions Update Committee of BSSC.
