In late summer 2017 I was approached by the Fintech company Mitigram to help them expand their customer base in the Nordics and I accepted the challenge. Mitigram is a FinTech startup offering a web based platform to digitize trade finance processes with a focus on LC’s & guarantees for exporting companies. Started in 2014 the company is now entering into an expansion phase where focus is transferred to international clients. After having built a broad customer pipeline in the Nordics as agreed, it is now their task to convert those opportunities to customers, a more long term engagement.

DNB Customer Solutions was the global Structured Finance group within DNB Bank. The task was to increase usage of capital efficient products and offer solutions based selling to Nordic and international clients. The increasingly challenging regulatory environment created a demand for innovative and capital efficient financial solutions such as supply chain financing, inventory financing, receivables financing and off balance sheet structures. The years with DNB has also implied participating and leading restructurings, M&A transaction , LBO’s , start-up financing and project finance. While Structured Finance was the prime business of the team, we were also heavily involved in developing financial models and reporting systems to host new products. Capital efficiency was a focus area and the team was also engaged by DNB Group from 2009 to reduce the use of capital/RWA (Risk Weighted Assets) within the bank. Large volumes of RWA was reduced by data quality improvements and by implementing external risk mitigants.Appointed member of the DNB Transaction Banking Management Team

The task of the Structured Finance team was to widen the international client offerings to also include working capital solutions, financial engineering, project finance and big ticket leasing. The bank had limited history with such type of business and the assignment was to grow the business in Sweden and later in the rest of the bank. In 2007 Structured Finance became a separate unit with reporting line to the head of Corporate Banking Sweden.Appointed member of the DNB Bank ASA, Sweden Branch Management Team.

The position implied to rebuild and aggressively expand the GECC mid-market leasing operations in the Nordic region. The goal was to build a Swedish team for strong growth and expand into all Nordic Countries within a 2-year period. The plan was for the team to grow to 50-60 people on a Nordic basis. I joined GE in June 2005 and was also appointed member of the GECC Management Team (“ledningsgrupp”). The employment was local but reporting was to the European head in London.

Due to my background I was also involved in many international structured finance & project finance transactions offered by HSBC to large clients.

The ABB Asset Finance Group was created to form a strong global ABB network of financial advising and structuring competence. The aim was to become one of the leading players in the Nordic market and act as a “micro investment bank”. The group started out with 6 people in the beginning of 1998 and by the end of the year 2000 the group consisted of 16 people and was growing quickly. Following the success with the establishment of the ABB Asset Finance Group in Europe, I relocated to the US in 2000 to create a similar Asset Finance Group in the Americas and took a new position as Senior Vice President. The aim was to copy the European business model and offer advising & arranging to American clients. Appointed member of the management team's in both Europe and in the US.
