My practice focuses on defending companies and financial instutions against a variety of putative state and nationwide class actions arising under state unfair and deceptive trade practices acts and other consumer lending statutes and regulations. I also regularly advise clients regarding California's Proposition 65 labeling statute. My experience includes representing:• Food companies in consumer class actions challenging food labels as being misleading• Food and consumer products companies in challenges under California’s Proposition 65 labeling statute, including an action brought by the California Attorney General against the major canned tuna manufacturers concerning warnings for methylmercury in canned tuna• A large national banking association in a number of nationwide and state class actions alleging consumer fraud and violations of consumer protection laws arising out of loan origination practices
