Provide advice to the business on activities that are subject to regulation including: Insurance Conduct of Business Rules, Complaints handling, TCF, Training and Competence, Financial Crime (including claims fraud) and Business Continuity planning.Respond to ad hoc queries received from business units in relation to regulated work. My responsibilities and achievements in this role included:Investigation of potential fraudulent insurance claims and to conduct any investigations necessary to obtain evidence and facts to make appropriate decisions, whilst maintaining excellent customer service levels.Dedicated Investigator for suspected employee fraud. Telephonic interviewing of claimants utilising specialist cognitive interviewing and conversation management techniques (SCORE) in order to further determine risk and separate honesty from inconsistency.Statement taking, liaising with the Police, report writing, witness interviewing & court attendance. Analysis of process, making recommendations for improvement and assisting in implementation.Liaison with other departments to ensure maximum inter-departmental efficiency.Known as a 'Key Player' within Investigation Unit with highly developed technical skills. Dealing with any complaints on my case allocation up to and including the issue of a Final Decision Letter.Making recommendations in respect of required underwriting action where a misrepresentation or breach of policy conditions has occurred.Insurance database interrogation, C.U.E & MIAFTR etc. Ad hoc referrals from other members of the team.Indemnity savings of almost £1 million during the first three years of my role.Investigation and repudiation of the highest valued motor vehicle claim presented to RSA, which resulted in an indemnity saving of £130.000. Compiling and writing a repository of technical repudiation letters, which were used as the standard by the rest of the team.
