Upon completing university, I started in the intensive care unit. After receiving the experience needed, I began working as a travel nurse. I have been working as a travel nurse, mainly in the critical care unit, since October of 2021, however, I have worked a float position while doing travel nursing in which I would work whatever position was short staffed for the week. I enjoy travel nursing as it has given me much more experience dealing with different demographics in different regions of the country allowing me to broaden my experience and expertise in my field.

I worked ortho, med-surg, CDU, and intermediate care units. Whichever floor I started the week was the floor I worked for the week.

I work as an Intermediate Critical Care Registered Nurse in which I care of 3-4 critical care patients nightly. These duties include but not limited to: starting and administering IV medications, dressing changes, health assessments, progression monitoring through the healing process, documenting vital signs. This hospital uses EPIC software as the documentation system. Nights in which I am Charge Nurse, I care for 2 patients while assisting my team, where needed. Duties as charge nurse include but are not limited to: creating patient assignment for each member of the ICCU care team, ensuring proper care is being administered, coordinating patient movements, respond to all emergency situations, and giving proper feedback to the house supervisor.While a member of the medical team at MMC, I have also floated to ICU & ED as needed.

ICU:As an RN here, I worked ICU 3 months having 1-2 patients per shift. Daily duties included buy not limited to: strictly monitoring, medicating, following doctor orders, preemptively calling doctors before orders expire, and assessing patients to ensure the best outcome to allow patient to be moved to step-down. Other duties include preparing deceased by medically pronouncing death, bathing, putting deceased in cadaver bags, proper identification, & preparing for transport to morgue.Stepdown/ Medical Telemetry:The floor changed from ICU to this while on the floor explaining change in services at this hospital. I worked this floor 1 year. I nightly cared for a patient load of 5-6 patients per shift. Duties included but not limited to: admitting patients, assessments, determination of patient needs, preforming nursing interventions, set up telemetry/cardiac monitoring, report changes to doctors, and many other responsibilities.
