OPERATIONS MANAGER (based on Night Operations)Employers name: Broughton Printers Ltd (BPL)Employment dates: June 2006 - CurrentMain responsibilities:• Lead the ongoing development of the site organisational structure and resource level to enable on-going improvement and development of people at all levels to create an environment of high challenge and support ensuring they maximise their potential.• Provide leadership and direction to all Managers, Team Leaders and a multi-disciplined team of between 50 and 140 at peak times in order to ensure a reliable production output and to continually improve performance in terms of safety, product quality and waste control.• Initiating and maintaining change in best practice production, engineering and supply chain processes to improve productivity and reduce costs; leading and mentoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to deliver substantial savings through continuous improvement and best practice production, engineering processes and successfully controlling projects.• Control of all night shift operations to ensure the efficient production of the Daily Express, Daily Star, Sunday Express and Daily Star Sunday National Newspapers. This includes Pre-Press, Pressroom, Publishing and Distribution Departments. This production is carried out within very stringent time constraints to ensure we meet all customer and newspaper distribution schedules within a continuous improvement environment.• Develop and maintain internal and external customer relations through liaison with off-site parties, namely production and editorial controllers based in London as well as newspaper distribution organisations.• Business Strategy setting, KPI definition, control and reporting.
