Robert (Bob) Barnes is president of ResCare Community Living, a line of business in the BrightSpring Health Services family of brands. BrightSpring is the leading provider of comprehensive home and community-based health and medication management services to complex populations in need of specialized care. Barnes has been with BrightSpring Health Services and ResCare Community Living since July 2018, leading the company’s quality, outcome-based care initiatives to support a complex, vulnerable population on a large scale. As President of ResCare Community Living, Barnes is focused on constantly evaluating performance and improving care to ensure client wellbeing. With more than 2,000 homes across the country, ResCare Community Living maintains high-quality, reliable care with a score of 85% on overall satisfaction from family members and guardians and 99.99% of the more than 100 million care hours per year are incident-free. Under Barnes’ leadership, over 800 sites of service across six operations in five states have received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehab Facilities (CARF). In 2022, ResCare Community Living’s behavioral therapy supports, SpringHealth Behavioral Health and Integrated Care, received a three-year national accreditation from the Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (BHCOE). Barnes oversees StepStone Family and Youth Services, a leading network of providers who support children in need of alternative living environments. StepStone offers complete care and support through foster care services, training for foster parents, respite care, and counseling. StepStone also provides support to young adults transitioning out of the foster care system. Barnes has over 20 years of experience in health care operations. He previously served as senior vice president of operations at Trilogy Health Services, a leading national provider of skilled nursing and assisted/senior living services. Prior to Trilogy, Barnes served as chief operating officer at Affinity Health Services and held operational leadership roles at Guardian Elder Care.
