With his passion for sustainable farming Robert Barnes is regularly asked to give lectures on the principles of Precision Farming and was asked to speak at CECE - CEMA European Summit, Brussels on Precision Farming. He has recently presented at the ‘The Soil & Water Live’ Conference, Anglian Farmers Conference and the Direct Drilling Conference.A dedicated sponsor of the Bedfordshire Young Farmers Rally annually, he invites the young farmers to visit the farm on an open evening to meet staff and look at the machinery.Robert is a member of GWCT (Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust) and opens his farm for an annual GWCT farm walk which is always extremely well attended by the GWCT Bedfordshire members and guest speakers.Robert holds annual farm open days for customers and staff with guest speakers to promote L E Barnes & Sons Farming methods and No-Till methodology alongside precision farming which is always oversubscribed.Past accolades include Winner of East of England Farms Competition, Best Alternative Enterprise1993 for the contracting business and more recently Winner of Farm Business Awards Best Farm Employer of the Year 2010
