In the beginning, there was manual "on the board"​ drafting. If you could draw, many times you could transition from piping design to civil/structural, electrical or instrumentation, or just about any other kind of manual drafting. Personally, in one of the hard times in the 80's, I made "the jump"​ from piping to mechanical HVAC and civil municipal water and sewer drafting. Not a design position in the beginning by any means, but a good ,solid drafting job that kept me and my son with a roof over our head and food.I am looking once again for an opportunity to work with simple, basic CAD 2d or 3d drafting. Not design work if the position is out of the piping field, a drafting job. I have an urgent need to get back to work., one way or another.Or a position out of engineering support all together, a complete career change. Below I've listed some of the other disciplines I've worked in over the years:- HVAC/mechanical piping systems and ductwork design for buildings, microelectronics, film and fiber and plastic extrusion facilities.- Instrument /electrical drafting. I have a strong interest in instrumentation work. It goes hand in hand with piping background ( for example, we design from "P.&I.D's, Piping and Instrument Diagrams) -Civil water treatment /waste water. I have experience with local municipal plan and profile drafting, stationing, water/sewer line construction. This easily translates into plan and profile drafting for pipeline work along with my knowledge of piping codes. I also a knowledge of AWWA.- Estimating and material take off for commercial ,manufacturing, or industrial applications- Any basic 2d or 3d solid drafting.The skillset I have acquired over the years can be used for many more applications than piping design..

Lead and coordinating the design team efforts for brown field NGL and gas production facility in West Texas Eagle Ford production field. Responsible for mechanical piping systems design for first phase area conceptual equipment layout including design of interconnecting piping.Project execution for NGL production facility (chillers, condensate stabilizers, glycol dehydration, compression and 2 phase inlet separation trains, condensate storage and sales metering systems.As a design lead, I was responsible for assignment and tasking of at least 5 designers and as many as 20 total team members
