Developing the vision for the future environment for digital forensic provision including the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud Services. Main short term focus is the delivery of three Proof of Concept (PoC) projects involving the orchestration of common digital forensic tools to automate the workflow. The primary objective of the PoCs is to improve the efficiency of the digital forensic process and reduce Turn-around-Time required to process exhibits and also reduce the staff hands-on time required per exhibit. Working closely with Met Police, West Yorkshire and East Midlands Special Operations Unit partner forces and suppliers including Black Rainbow (Nimbus), Magnet and NUIX. • Metropolitan Police
    Digital Forensics It Infrastructure Lead
    Metropolitan Police May 2018 - May 2019
    London, United Kingdom
Lead on the delivery of digital forensic technology and IT infrastructure working closely corporate IT provider (Digital Policing) and third party suppliers. Key element to role has been managing the transition from a stand-alone, self-supported and governed forensic network to enterprise level, secure and resilient infrastructure (Labnet). Vital transformative change that I delivered, by systematically working through an IT Health Check and remediation measures, was to enable officers to remotely and safely view forensic data (potentially containing viruses or malware) segregated on the forensic network using their standard corporate laptops (via Virtual Desktop Infrastructure). At present the forensic network is expanding to connect all digital forensic hubs and kiosks, removing the requirement to copy data to external media, improving efficiency and the ability to manage the data in a compliant manner.

Business Case was approved and subsequently led the implementation phase which involved recruitment (over 65 new posts), identification of office locations and refurbishment, hardware and software as well as running a procurement and implementation for the digital forensic kiosks. Despite significant corporate reorganisation leading to challenging environment this piece of work was delivered on schedule and to budget over and 18 month period.
