About Robert Bean, Ph.D.
I am a Ph.D. graduate that studied geomorphology and hydrology (paleoenvironments). My graduate work included analysis of complex fluvial basins in lowlands (South America and Southern Africa), including oil-spill modelling and paleoenvironmental reconstruction. I organized and carried-out multiple field campaigns (July 2015-August 2017) in Southern Africa (Botswana) to look at fluvial-lacustrine-aeolian changes and influences on surface and groundwater in the distal Okavango megafan (Okavango Delta). Expeditions from July-2016-April 2017 were part of a Fulbright Student Research fellowship for independent international research. I completed my MS in 2012, where I gained extensive experience working in challenging aquatic/freshwater environments of Portland, Oregon. My skillset includes data acquisition and harmonization, water quality testing from mission planning to lab testing, including QA/QC procedures. Specialties: Surveying and environmental monitoring, soil and water testing, GIS modeling, geostatistical analysis, Python programming, LiDAR, SAR, and other remote sensing processing/analysis/application, network analysis and construction.Natural resource management including water quality, quantity, soil conservation, riparian zones, and urban environmental planning.
Listed skills include Gis, Arcgis, Water Quality, Geomorphology, and 48 others.
