A. B. DickMy exposure to the printing industry came while I was in Jr and High school, working after school and at night as a Printers Devil, Started working for A.B. Dick on August 1, 1948 as a Service trainee and worked in various service, sales and management positions across the United States with their Branch Operations. Special Projects: Established their Dealer net work of about 400 locations Participated in the start up Franchise Operations for Postal Instant Press [1965-Bill LeVine], Kwik Kopy Printing [1967 Bud Hadfield] and Sir Speedy [1968 Don Lowe] . Retired from A.B. Dick on July 9, 1997. [ I served in the USAF in Korea for just over a year- Counted as longevity because I served in Korea with the 8th Air Force during the conflict] In my final years with the company I worked in the International Division, covering the Pacific and Far East. Maintaining and establishing distributors, While I worked in over 42 countries my major concentration was in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, China, Korea, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, The Philippines, USSR, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Cambodia, Myanmar/Burma, Egypt, Iceland, Greenland, American Samoa, Fiji, Papa New Guinea, Tahiti, India, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Set up a training facility in Singapore to serve the Pacific and Far East. With a full time staff. We owned our own distribution system in Europe and the calls I made in those countries were as a Corporate visitor with a specific goal to accomplish or institute; to mention a few: UK, Germany, France, Turkey, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, and SwedenWhen retired moved from California to Houston and in 1998 Bud asked me to work with their Franchises
