As a Senior Research Scientist at CSIRO, I apply my expertise in chemistry and technology scale up to develop innovative solutions for renewable energy challenges, such as carbon capture, CO2 utilisation, and solar fuel production. I have over 10 years of experience in this role, leading projects and experimental programs to deploy insights from fundamental science as real world technologies. I recently led a novel carbon capture absorbent recycling project, and implemented an automated materials preparation platform for high-throughput testing of heterogeneous catalytic surfaces.I have a strong background in multiple areas of renewable energy technology, with previous research positions at the University of Alabama and CSIRO, where I investigated photocatalytic and solar energy materials, developed novel light-swing solvent regeneration processes for carbon capture, and fabricated perovskite solar cells from chemical vapour deposited metal. I have extensive experience with various spectroscopic, microscopy, and chromatography techniques, as well as software tools such as LabVIEW, Matlab, Gaussian DFT, Origin, and Python. I also have experience in supervising and mentoring students and post docs, as well as managing lab equipment and operations. I am passionate about advancing the scientific knowledge and innovation in the field of renewable energy, and contributing to the global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance energy security.
