Direct, respond, & develop innovative solutions to help and assist members of the KCMO Police Department (sworn & civilian) in crisis or in need of assistance with a host of wellness issues. These issues range from financial issues, relationships, stress management, physical well being, nutrition, PTSD, retirement planning, career mentoring, workplace issues, and help with referrals to mental health specialists. We also provide support and assistance to employees during critical incidents (Police Shootings) or (Traumatic Events/Crime Scenes). These services are offered during business hours, by appointment, and on an as needed basis after hours.

Review all aggravated assaults, robberies, and home invasions (1st degree residential burglaries). Determine who the victims are and conduct interviews. After interviewing victims advise them of thier rights are under Missouri Crime Victim Compensation law. Assist and help them obtain resources such as trauma counseling, and medical bill reimbursement for injuries sustained during the crime.

Respond to and investigate, analyze, fingerprint, and document crime scenes for evidence. Collect and preserve DNA samples for analysis. Photograph crime scenes utilizing various specialized techniques. Deploy an array of chemicals such as Luminol, LCV, Hematrace, ferrotrace to assist in documenting the scene or evidence. Utilize specialized equipment such as an ALS or metal detector at scenes. Collect, package, and recover evidence for analysis. Process human beings both living and deceased for evidence. Prepare detailed reports, sketch crime scenes, and use drafting software to recreate scenes to scale. Testify in pretrial hearings, depositions, and criminal trials.

Investigate armed, strong armed, bank robberies, and Felons in possession of firearms/ammunition/Kevlar Vests. Conduct interrogations of suspects, interview witnesses, prepare and present case files to the prosecutor for review. Testify in depositions, suppression hearings, sentencing hearings, and criminal trials.

Investigate murders, suicides, and suspicious deaths. Interview witnesses, and interogate suspects. Prepare case files, search warrants, and probable cause (PC) statements for presentation to the prosecutor. Present sworn testimony for depositions, suppression hearings, sentencing hearings, criminal trials, and civil litigation.

Attempt to establish contact with barricaded subjects and resolve the incident without having to use force.

Responsible to train, evaluate, and supervise recent graduates from the KCPD Police Academy.
