Lead Maintenance Mechanic
CurrentUnder the direction of the Director of Facilities and/or Assistant Director Facilities, assists in the supervision of shift staff and provides hands-on work for all aspects of building and facilities maintenance on the Lake Shore Campus. - Assists in the responsibility for all aspects of day to day maintenance operation and trades for the Lake Shore Campus buildings & facilities- Assists in the scheduling of work load and maintaining shift schedule- Uses the work order management system, (TMA), in assigning, creating, monitoring, tracking and reporting of work request and PM work- Monitors and tracks mechanics progress, timeliness and quality of work; provides documented report of mechanics performance- Troubleshoots and diagnoses building maintenance, interior, exterior, electrical, plumbing and security problems as needed- Assists with outside contractors, escorting, providing scope of work, evaluating proposals, inspection of project status, inspection of completed contracted project with documentation, and approval of invoices/pay applications upon final inspection- Assists with purchasing, receiving and inventory of material and supplies- Responsible for safety and compliance of all OSHA requirements- Maintains the safe operation and maintenance of building facilities, electrical and mechanical systems and plumbing- Performs all aspects of building maintenance including, but not limited to carpentry & related hardware, electrical, interior/structure, plumbing, security related door hardware and proper usage of maintenance tools and equipment - Performs work assignments received, both verbal and through the work order software system- Maintains records of work performed using the work order management software system - Maintains inventory - Performs work assignments to make campus facilities as safe and secure as possible for all students, staff and faculty
