Founder and President Joint Development Associates InternationalOver the last 30 years overseeing international relief and development programs in Central Asia and MENA, through Joint Development Associates International (JDA). Living in Tashkent, Uzbekistan with his family for sixteen years doing community development work from 1992 - 2008. Cross-border work began in Afghanistan, after the fall of the Taliban in December, 2001 until current. Since 2001, in Afghanistan, six schools had been constructed and working in 100's of communities helping to provide clean water sources, restoring their agriculture systems and training women and men in health and hygiene and birthing practices. More than 200,000 farmers have been trained in wheat technologies and mechanization and provided training to more than 30,000 women in health, hygiene and nutrition. The backbone of JDA has been the local staff making up more than 95% of the workforce.In 2017. JDA was registered in Iraq. Our work currently involves rehabilitating homes and helping Iraqis rebuild their lives through livelihood opportunities. All of our work, to date, is in the Ninewa and Dahuk governorates working with Chaldean and Yazidi populations.In October, 2021, partnering with Help the Persecuted, 568 Afghans were evacuated to the UAE and now are being resettled in the US and Canada. In December, 2021, JDA founded the Grand Valley Resettlement Program (GVRP) with the intent of helping resettle Afghan families that had worked for JDA. It is expected that 10-20 Afghan families will be resettled in the Grand Junction, Colorado and the Grand Valley.
