I started my career as a geologist where I grew to love mapping and GIS. It started with plotting out soil contamination plumes, groundwater contours, and digitalizing figures. I took a few training courses on ESRI where I grew to love GIS even more. I decided to make GIS a full-time career. I received my Certificate in GIS from Elmhurst University in 2016. I started working at Verizon in 2017 and knew right away GIS was the right choice. I was the first hire for the fiber group. There I developed my GIS skills even further while working on the 5G build program and later became a senior GIS engineer. I became the go-to person for anything GIS related. In that role I realized I was good at training people in GIS or Verizon systems, especially making procedural documentation. I believe my geology background, building 5G, and my experience at training, makes me stand out from other GIS analysts.
