Communication is the cornerstone of personal and professional success. With over 25 years of experience speaking, teaching, coaching and consulting, I want to help you develop your communication in pursuit of your goals. I began performing in in both theater and debate when I was young and quite intimidated. Fortunately, I had great coaches and mentors that were able to help me develop my communication that led to work at Universities, corporations, and with private customers. I get deep satisfaction out of helping others mature in confidence and ability with their communication whether it be with one person or in front of thousands. As Simon Sinek says, “people don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it”.I’ve been fortunate to blend both an academic and corporate professional background. I have social science content expertise in public speaking, leadership, organizational theory, interpersonal communication, persuasion, group communication, argumentation and debate, and intercultural communication. I’ve worked with corporate clients, commencement and TED speakers, M.A. and Ph.D students, undergraduates, adult learners, and non-native english speakers. I’ve been lucky to have the opportunity to be a university debate coach, professional actor, dj and radio personality, guest speaker at the Harvard Kennedy School, and consult on myriad presentations and leadership development projects. My education background is a B.A. from U.C.S.B. (Communications), an M.A. from The University of Hawai’i (Speech), and an Ed.D (Organization and Leadership) from the University of San Francisco. That being said, my experiences living in three states (California, Hawaii, and Colorado), as well as work, living, and travel to many countries is what has broadened my perspective the most and introduced me to awesome people all over the world.
