I provide counsel and assistance on the campaign to end the exception in the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Consitution, which expressly permits the enslavement of prisoners.

I work to eradicate all forms of modern slavery and the effects of modern slavery, wherever they occur, and to promote and support the efforts of others to end modern slavery and human trafficking.

We are working to eradicate the effects of modern slavery with a focus on South Orange, Maplewood, Millburn, and Short Hills, New Jersey.

I represent a select group of clients in complex litigation in the Federal and State Courts of New York and New Jersey. I also serve as an arbitrator and mediator in various commercial and other matters.

My work at Free the Slaves included, among other things, helping to coordinate FTS' supply chain work, helping to coordinate supply chain efforts with other agencies, and advocating to businesses for transparency with respect to their supply chains and the presence of slavery in their supply chains, and for greater and more effective efforts to eliminate slavery from their supply chains.

For more than 30 years, I have acted as trial and appellate counsel in state and Federal courts and have appeared before AAA, FINRA, and Real Estate Board of New York arbitration panels. I have worked on a wide variety of cases, including some arising out of the Iranian revolution, one of the well-known Nigerian cement cases, a fraud and breach of contract case arising from the sale of concrete bank vaults, an action caused by an airline's refusal to pay $200 million in deferred moneys to its employees, and several cases concerning capital market disputes.
