About Robert Boshoff
I am a grafter. My career in the Casino Industry started at age 18 as a Croupier. I started my journey abroad by working for a well renowned Cruise Line as a croupier based out of Miami, FL, USA, at age 21. My transition into guest services came in the position of a Casino Host, I climbed the ladder very quickly and went from trainee to running my own department on my first contract, I was also the 1st and youngest in my position to do so. In the next 5 years I worked my way up from Host to Marketing Executive, once again being the youngest in the position to reach this title. Although I was based in the Head Office, Miami, FL, USA, I was required to travel to many States within the USA to increase financial opportunities as well as visiting the fleet of Cruise line vessels on a weekly basis overseeing operations.As I became a father and husband, a Career shift was needed as I wanted to be closer to my family. I returned to South Africa and joined one of the most prestigious Events companies in the Country. Once again I started from the bottom within 5 years I was General Manager. My training was intensive and I covered many positions in my progression. My final responsibility was to spearhead a new company under the umbrella and to grow it from the ground up, starting with a fresh team and new client base. Unfortunately due to the Covid-19 pandemic this all came to a grounding halt and had to part ways.For a short time during lockdown in 2020 I was a Sales Rep for a company selling Ozone Technology in South Africa.Currently based in Perthshire, Scotland, UK. My first working role in the UK was as a Customer Advisor within SSE/OVO Energy. Unfortunately due to the Global Energy Crises tough decisions had to be made within the company and I decided to move on to a new oppurtunity within Castle Water.I feel very fortunate to have been provided an oppurtunity as a Front Office Customer Service Advisor for Castle Water. Again, I start from the bottom and have my sights aimed high. In my free time I like gaming, reading and going on adventures with my family.

Customer Care Advisor for the Partnership services department within SSE/OVO. Daily duties include updating accounts, assisting partners via telephone and email regarding their Energy supply, liaising with 3rd party suppliers, and transferring calls to relevant departments within the company. This position was a good fit for my past experience in the customer service industry as my communication skills and patience worked to my benefit when it came to some challenging customer calls. However it is an industry I had no previous knowledge or experience in, but had the drive and willingness to apply myself and learn from the ground up, drawing on past experience to build myself from. The best thing about life is the ability to learn something new everyday.We have recently been offered Voluntary Redundancy packages, and with the World returning to some semblance of normalcy, I have decided to take this as an opportunity to return to my strengths and pursue a career within the Hospitality industry once again. I now have some experience working within a large UK based company, and hopefully this should open a few more doors.
