Assistant Special Agent In Charge (Asac) - Criminal Investigations/Support Services (Retired)
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States
Responsibilities included leading all of the FBI Milwaukee Division's criminal programs (violent criminal threats, crimes against children, public corruption, civil rights and white collar crime), crisis management and critical incident response (SWAT, crisis negotiations), and administrative/support services, as well as the community outreach/public affairs/media and training programs. I led personnel, including FBI agents, task force officers and professional staff employees in Milwaukee and six resident agencies in Madison, Green Bay, Wausau, Superior, Eau Claire and La Crosse. I conducted strategic decision making on the establishment of yearly goals, which included leading teams in the identification of threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring supervisors developed and implemented mitigation strategies, assessed performance metrics and evaluated productivity on a yearly basis. I conducted evaluations of field office processes and operations, implemented performance improvement measures and realigned resources to optimize performance. As the division's compliance officer, I provided oversight to ensure adherence to US law, as well as US DOJ and FBI policy. In addition, I led the implementation of MW's body worn camera program, being the first FBI office fully operational. I was also responsible for the initiation, investigation and resolution of internal investigations. I ensured FBI personnel conducted thorough, timely investigations with integrity, courtesy and compassion. I provided leadership in response to ad hoc events and reactive situations, to include making sound decisions with limited information during stressful situations. I fostered partnerships with executives at the local, state and federal level, as well as enhanced community relations and public/private partnerships through outreach, alliance building and speaking engagements.
