Dr. Robert F. Brammer is the President and CEO of Brammer Technology, LLC, a consultancy focusing on advanced information technology, environment and climate, and security. He is also an adjunct research professor in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Science and the Department of Finance at the University of Maryland, College Park. Additionally, he is the chief investment officer for the Brammer Family Office, managing 25 equity portfolios and providing several services to family members,He retired as VP and chief technology officer (CTO) for Northrop Grumman's Information Systems sector. He was responsible for technology strategy and Independent R&D programs, technology partnerships, technical talent development, and intellectual property management. Dr. Brammer created Northrop Grumman’s TRIAD Laboratory Network, a high-performance network including more than 40 laboratories across the US for advanced IT research. He established Northrop Grumman’s “Mentoring the Technical Professional” Program which has aided the professional development of more than 2000 staff members. He also created the Northrop Grumman Cybersecurity Research Consortium, including Carnegie Mellon University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Purdue University. Dr. Brammer has a BS degree in mathematics from the University of Michigan, and an MA and Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Maryland. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. He received various awards for work on the Apollo program and for principal investigator research on NASA and NOAA satellite programs. He is a Fellow of the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers and of the American Meteorological Society. He is also a senior member or member of several other professional societies, including the IEEE, ACM, ABA, and AGU. Dr. Brammer has published numerous research papers in the journals of these societies.He has served on advisory committees for DOD, the National Research Council, the Naval Studies Board, the NSF, the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, and NASA. He is now a member of the Intelligence Science and Technology Experts Group for the Director of National Intelligence and is also a member of the Board of Visitors for the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences at the University of Maryland. He is also Chair of the Cleantech and Climate Change Committee of the American Bar Association. He has received the Certificate in Sustainability and Climate Risk from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).
