Before I decided to go into business for myself and become the owner of North Bay Moving and Storage, my career thus far had been in operations management with the United Parcel Service, better known as UPS. While with UPS, I worked in various package centers throughout the north-bay area. I worked as an on-road supervisor, which involved overseeing a driver group, ensuring that they complied with company safety and performance standards. I moved on to become the fulltime pre-load and dispatch supervisor in Santa Rosa, CA. In this role, I used a dispatch management system to dispatch work to over 45 drivers and determine and plan the safest and most logistically and financially effective routes for our deliveries. In addition to planning and implementing the dispatch, I was also responsible for managing the morning pre-load operation. This involved supervision over 30 people as we unloaded packages from the semi-truck trailers and loaded them on to package cars for delivery. As you might imagine, all this prepared me for the intricacies involved in successful moves for individuals and families, whether the move is across town, or across the country. I work extremely well with others and enjoy collaborating with members of my North Bay Moving and Storage team. Fairness and honesty guide my interactions with my team and our customers. Communication is an essential aspect of any management position, and it is an area where I excel. I am DOT certified and while I was with UPS, I completed several training's including “Manage your team with integrity and excellence” and “Defensive Driving”.
