As a Sr. Application Engineering Specialist, my duties include creating and designing a quote for a weather resistant enclosure (building) to house and protect the customer’s internal equipment from the elements. The enclosures are quoted to 3R standards with a structural grid base and floor system designed for applicable floor loading, allowing the building to be lifted and transported with the interior equipment installed. The enclosures house electrical equipment (i.e. Switchgear, MCC's, Battery Systems, DCS, SCADA/RTU, etc.) installed at one of our three locations. All proposals are quoted to the latest applicable design requirements (i.e. IBC, NEC, OSHA, etc.) including hazardous locations, such as Class 1/Division 2 areas for the following industries: Gas & Oil, Water Treatment, Mining, Power Market, etc. A lot of the engineering is completed on the front end before it goes to our engineering department.

My responsibilities in the Engineering Department included; creating an accurate Bill of Materials and obtaining pricing on materials not quoted, designing electrical layouts to NEC codes, using AutoCAD, to create and process Change Orders, etc. based on conversations directly with customers. For all intents and purposes, I filled a Project Manager roll. My duties were to train, lead, guide, and direct the individuals who worked directly for me in all the above. *The main purpose for my being asked to join the engineering design department was to provide a specific service to the department that was critically lacking. I was told that I was chosen based on my abilities and my output and performance in the field.

As a Lead Electrician in the field, my duties were to;• To work closely with my immediate supervisor, carrying out orders and instructions.• Convey orders and instructions to my team members.• Lead and inspire my team members by being a good communicator, and setting the work pace with my output and performance.• Introduce new labor saving fabrication methods to my team members, and to management. • Organize my team so that the work distributed is in harmony with my team member’s ability. • Eliminate groups of employees standing around talking and wasting production time.• Discipline employees that have stopping work early for breaks and lunch. • Lead, guide, and direct the individuals who worked directly for me in the installation of all electrical equipment and systems.
