I was appointed EBS Limited Chief Risk Officer in April 2012 As the Executive responsible for Risk Management, my goals were to develop a robust risk culture in EBS that facilitated intelligent risk decision making. I also acted as Director of Risk & Compliance for EBS Mortgage Finance – a 100% subsidiary that is a separately licensed credit institution.Key priorities and deliverables included:• Led EBS’s 2nd line Risk & Governance related activities including the management of various risk committees and preparation of various Board and Regulatory reports. • Developed and embedded EBS risk appetite at group and subsidiary level. • Enhanced EBS’s risk management and governance infrastructure.• Further developed and embedded an enterprise risk reporting infrastructure across EBS.• Developed a management capability to provide oversight and assessment of the rapidly changing Regulatory landscape.• Lead the delivery of risk & compliance related external stakeholder requirements including liaising with the Financial Regulator on risk matters.• Enhanced the EBS Board and Executive team’s understanding and management of the risk / reward balance.
