CurrentAs a member of the Core Mechanical Systems Group for rack & pinion electric power steering, I provide product design support to a wide range of teams both internal and external to the organization. Responsible for leading root cause strategy and corrective action implementation on a variety of product issues ranging from new product development to post-production warranty return analysis and everything in between.• Leveraged manufacturing data trends and part inspection results to identify and fix a housing alignment issue, yielding a 10% reduction in system friction• Utilized Design for Six Sigma strategies to optimize belt and pulley mesh under load, reducing production failure rates from 15% to <1%• Supported development of an innovative new plastic design that reduces component cost by 60% over current design - Co-inventor on a pending patent for an added design feature • Lead a successful product demo that helped secure new business with a highly coveted customer in a strategic region
