As part of the wider Procurement leadership team I lead a team managing Aviva’s Contracts and Relationships with the offshore Global Sourcing Partners (inc TCS and Wipro). These suppliers provide a significant proportion of Aviva’s IT capability and are vital to Aviva’s business success.• Governance Framework – Ensuring suppliers, and contracts are managed in line, and compliance, with the defined group standard processes with a keen focus on risk and good risk management (using Ariba). I have also positioned my team as a centre of excellence for supplier management to allow sharing of best practice across the wider organisation.• Supplier Relationships – Along with setting and agreeing the Supplier Relationship strategy I, and my team, ensure that the day to day relationship is working and delivering the value required.• Supplier Governance – I run, or support, a range of supplier governance forums ensuring the suppliers, are adhering to obligations and importantly delivering increasing value • Stakeholder Management - Work regularly with senior internal stakeholders for my suppliers to understand their needs and also to influence business behaviour and strategy.• Dispute Management – I have managed complex supplier disputes focused on achieving the best outcome for my organisation whilst maintaining an appropriate relationship with suppliers.• Leadership – I have direct team management responsibility and play a leading role in both the IT Contract and Commercial Management and wider Group Procurement leadership teams. Aviva It Procurement – Senior Category Manager
As a Senior Category Manager, I was part of the IT Data & Analytics Procurement category team (from March 2016, previously in the IT Infrastructure Shared Services category) where my role was to support management of suppliers, contracts and define Procurement strategy and lead sourcing activity.• Category Management – I developed and maintained Category Plans aligned to ever changing business needs and market conditions. These plans were developed and agreed with senior business stakeholders and set the sourcing strategy for Procurement activity.• Leading Complex Sourcing Activity - I have led significant sourcing activities covering Fixed Telecoms, Mobile, Global Conferencing, Data Governance and ETL services. This has involved developing requirements, identifying suppliers, carrying out RFPs and then gaining senior sign off for the final decision. The most significant activity was being the Procurement lead on the 18 month project to source Aviva Fixed Telecoms services.• Negotiation and Complex Contract Development – I have led negotiations for a variety of contract variations and new contracts delivering significant business benefit in a professional and where possible collaborative manner with suppliers. • Systems Thinking / Process Improvement – I supported the Sourcing Simplification work stream delivering a number of the key elements. I took a leading role in two ‘Hacks’ looking at cultural change and increased automation.
Aviva Supplier Performance & Contract Management – Senior Contract Manager
• Contract Management – Managed, governed and developed contracts with major suppliers (such as Vodafone and EE) managing supplier performance, ensuring relevance of, and adherence to, agreed contracts. I have led work to resolve conflict between the business and suppliers including formal Disputes and Settlement Agreements.• Delivering Benefit - Working with suppliers I also looked to add further business value by identifying opportunities to improve performance, reduce cost, manage, and mitigate supply risk as well as generally improve outcomes for Aviva.• Change Management – I led the governance forum/process for assessing and negotiating contract changes with suppliers. This focused on both technical and commercial terms within the variation.

I had accountability to Business unit customers at Director Of level for the provision of IT Service.
