Performing input/output field verifications for existing plant process control system, in preparation for installation of current state of the art control DCS (Honeywell Experion). Heavy emphasis on reading and creating loop drawings, reading and correcting existing P&ID drawings. Tracing wiring through cabinets, over all intermeidate terminals - from origin at DCS input/output to end instrumentation/control device. Short term contract position.

Instrument Technician and Electrician

My duties as an Instrument Mechanic at Hyperion Wastewater Plant (Los Angeles) have included pressure transmitters, differential pressure transmitters, level transmitters (including radar, ultrasonic, and laser), temperature transmitters, gauges and sight glasses. I have also worked with stack gas analyzers, pH, ORP, and streaming current analyzers, also turbidimeters. I also have experience with position transmitters for air dampers and control valves.

 Upon transferring to the Hyperion Plant in the position of Energy Recovery Operator, received rigorous training for 6 months in the classroom by Montgomery-Parsons engineering staff. The training included regular skill testing; a minimum standard was required: 80% or better. The training included tanks, piping, pressure vessels, machine metallurgy, lubrication, electricity and electronics, safety, chemistry and chemical handling, lockout procedure, first aid and CPR.

My job duties and training as specifically pertains to Power Generation began at the Harbor Generating Station in Wilmington, for the L.A. Dept. of Water and Power. Training was rigorous; I studied the PSEG (Principles of Steam-Electric Generation), a three-volume home-and-work study course. I traced all piping and followed regenerative cycle systems, also produced detailed drawings of all systems. As a trainee, I learned most aspects of equipment involved with power generation.
