Robert L. Bugg, Ph.D., Consulting Biologist, originator and Director of the Mountain Agrobiodiversity Project. Dr. Bugg has trekked in the Himalaya and Andes, and has extensive experience in fundraising, competitive grants administration, and research, extension, and implementation of sustainable agricultural practices, including cover cropping, hedgerow design and establishment, biological control, native pollinator conservation, and ecological soil management. He has authored fifty-five refereed scientific publications on these and related themes, including many primary data articles, and has worked with a wide range of field, vegetable, and row crops. He was co-originator and implementer of the Biologically Integrated Orchard Systems (BIOS) projects and of the competitive grants program that supported Biologically Integrated Farming Systems (BIFS) projects, which involved farmer-to-farmer exchanges and farmer-scientist focus teams and were the first multi-media agricultural pollution reduction projects in the USA.
