I am an Insightful and engaging investment leader with over thirty years’ experience driving performance for market leaders in multi-manager funds. My detailed understanding of a range of investment strategies and extensive network of relationships with talented managers across fixed income and credit, equities, real estate and private markets is complemented by the proven ability to build, market and manage successful investment businesses.Since setting up the multi-manager business under the Thames River brand in 2007, I have delivered top quartile performance and navigated business evolution, driving engagement with various corporate partners following successive acquisitions by F&C, BMO and Columbia Threadneedle. Over this period, I kept the brand relevant and competitive by optimising the manager selection process and enhancing our portfolio construction. I delivered performance by diversifying risk across a blend of high performing specialist managers held for sustained periods; a method that has consistently generated favourable returns when compared to a standard core-satellite approach.I have spent three decades exploring the fund manager universe, attended hundreds of face-to-face meetings and built a very detailed understanding of how they perform throughout the economic cycle, from stalwarts with impressive, decades-long track records to newer, emerging talent. I have consistently innovated in the types of funds selected, and been an early adopter of many fund types including boutiques, ESG, income, incubator, and MPS.A key element of my success has been a close alignment with Sales and Marketing teams, I am an articulate and persuasive presenter, who has always committed time and effort to meeting with investors to understand their needs and constraints and put forward the value of the multi-manager offering.I have had the privilege of working with talented colleagues throughout my career and pride myself on their longevity and the very low turnover of our team.
