Currently, responsible for all software installations, mannequin/robotics operaton, and AV systems for UC Simulation. Directs other team members as needed on standardizedtechnical tasks; assists in the development and modification of technical training,procedures, and checklists. May assist with other roles as appropriate and necessaryduring simulations, site visits and special projects/programs.
Project Manager
Reporting to the Vice President, Deputy Director and Section Chiefs of Surgery, serve as a member of the Surgery Administration team. Responsible for facilities, design and construction, and space planning for the second largest department within the Biological Sciences Division. Manage and monitor day-to-day activity and provide direction to team members and supporting organizations; estimate and create budgets for projects; approve sub contractor and vendor invoices in BuySite, the University of Chicago’s procurement system; review blueprints and identify potential problems and proactively implement solutions; regularly evaluate performance reports and initiate change requests as required; maintain schedule and budget; review contracts to ensure that they are in agreement with departmental expectations; serve as a liaison between University of Chicago Plant Department, BSD Plant Department, University of Chicago EVS management, and University of Chicago Design Department.Assume comprehensive responsibility for the execution of all Project Management duties within the Department of Surgery group (450 staff members). Manage the entire project process from demolition to designing the space; tracking all department equipment for research labs and offices; work with departmental finance to manage the budget for multiple projects; responsible for networking and telecommunication set-up for all departmental staff.Supervise a team up to 15 members for departmental projects.Key Accomplishments:• Help with the design of Simulation lab with a budget of $1.5M which resulted in the department saving $45K on the project.• Successful completion of multiple office, conference room, lab, and executive suite interior design renovations with a budget of $100K.• Track and maintain equipment for the department of up to $100M.
