Dr. Frederickson has over 50 years experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device and other entrepreneurial areas. He is co-founder and Exec. Director of Alor ehf, a green energy storage company established in Iceland. Prior to this he was co-founder, CEO and Chairman of PhysioSonics Inc. (founded to develop technology to measure intracranial pressure non-invasively using transcranial u/s). Previous to this he was President, CEO and Co-founder of UltraImage LLC, a company that brought several MRI imaging products to market before Dr. Frederickson negotiated a merger with Pathway Medical Technologies Inc. (PMT). He served for 3 years on the Board of PMT and on the Strategic Advisory Board of UltraImage Corp, a subsidiary of PMT, before PMT was acquired by Medrad. Prior to this he was Exec. VP and CTO of Gliatech Inc, a biotechnology and medical device company. At Gliatech he developed a medical device that reached market in the US, Europe and elsewhere, developed an Alzheimer’s program that was partnered with Janssen Pharmaceuticals and developed a neuroreceptor program that was acquired by Merck & Co. Before joining Gliatech as founding management in 1989, he was Sr. Director of CNS Diseases Research at GD Searle & Co, in charge of all CNS research worldwide for Searle-Monsanto. Before this he held senior research and management positions at Monsanto Co. and Eli Lilly & Co. At Eli Lilly & Co he chaired a team that brought the antidepressant Prozac into development and brought a unique analgesic discovered in his own laboratory into clinical trial. While at Eli Lilly & Co and Monsanto he also served as Assist. then Assoc. Professor of Psychiatry (1976-1984) at the Indiana University School of Medicine, where besides teaching various medical-related courses he supervised a number of PhD and Masters degree candidates and presented numerous lectures worldwide. He has training in engineering, physics, architecture and biophysics, a BSc degree with Honors in Physics, a Ph.D. in Neuropharmacology and postdoctoral work in Neurophysiology. He is inventor on more than a dozen US patents and numerous foreign patents, author of over 100 published scientific articles and book chapters and Editor of several scientific book series. He has recently published two books: the first book in a 3-book series "New Iceland and Beyond: A 175-year Icelandic-Canadian Saga" and "Reality vs Quantum Mysticism" (written under the pen name R.
