Robert C. Davidson, Jr. has a passion for business that is only matched by his passion for community involvement. He is the retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Surface Protection Industries (SPI), Davidson’s company, a paint and specialty coatings manufacturing company which he founded in 1977, and which became one of the largest African American-owned manufacturing companies in California. He directed the company and its growth for 30 years until his retirement in 2007.Davidson brings strong leadership, knowledge and experience of strategic and financial matters from his experience founding private companies serving national and international markets. He also brings vast experience of public company governance.
