Senior It Analyst - Ophthalmology Imaging Systems
Current• Responsible for all aspects of the ophthalmology imaging system lifecycle including needs assessment, procurement, project planning, implementation and support for seven DEC clinics and research facilities across central North Carolina. Image storage consists of over 500Tb of data with an annual growth of 20%.• Working with our vendors, and very often pushing their self-imposed limitations, I have created a true enterprise-level suite of imaging applications and devices that are used by all of our clinics and many of our researchers. • Coordinate with other internal IT teams such as Clinical Engineering, DHTS and Field Services to provide seamless support for our customers. • Serve as a mentor and resource for Clinical Engineering personnel in the use and support of the imaging systems.• Aggressively manage imaging device and IT resources to minimize costs to the department. This constant forward-looking management of the available resources has saved the department several hundred thousand dollars in recurring chargebacks and will continue to pay off annually going forward.• Manage and maintain seven major enterprise-wide Windows server-based systems and associated image capture devices to include:o Escalon Axis Image Management (Axis 5)o Heidelberg Heyex 1 and Heyex 2o Haag-Streit EyeSuite i9.xo Optos Advanceo Zeiss Forumo Topcon Harmony and ImageNeto Alcon SmartCataract / ORA / Verion / Argos• Interact daily with physicians, photographers, technicians, clinic managers, researchers and senior management to ensure that the imaging devices from numerous vendors are well supported and maintained to optimize clinic flow and minimize down time. • Serve as a member of the Eye Center IT Steering Committee as the subject matter expect for imaging and other IT issues.• Frequently consulted by imaging systems vendors to work with other clients to resolve issues and answer pre and post sales and implementation questions.
