Back in the dark ages of 2020 and the first lock down, my brother approached me with a bit of a "lock down project". The UAV industry had been left in limbo by the covid restrictions, and some of his clients had raised questions about automating UAV operations. Peter wanted to design and build a UAV docking station, and he wanted my help to do it. So in the Summer of 2020, In his tiny conservatory, the first Idiployer Docking Station was born. Moving from Business Intelligence Consultant to CTO of a UAV Automation company may seem like an unlikely leap. The industries on the surface seem incompatible, but the structures underneath, both technical and operational, are surprisingly similar. At their core, both industries are about making multiple complex suites of software co-exist and communicate as harmoniously as possible within the a single organism.
