He is the founder and principal consultant of Capwell Consulting Group LLC, which provides employment screening expert witness and litigation support in the areas of employment screening litigation, background checks, criminal background check expertise, litigation support for background check cases, due diligence background screening litigation, fraud prevention background screening, HR compliance investigations, and medical device manufacturing quality and medical device regulatory compliance. Widely recognized for his deep subject matter background check industry expertise in the employment screening field, Mr. Capwell specializes in providing his expertise as a background check expert witness involving the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), background check dispute resolution claims, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), workplace violence, an expert witness for negligent hiring cases, negligent supervision and retention cases. Robert has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur Magazine, and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) publications. Robert is a Founding Member and Past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) which is now the Professional Background Screening Association (PBSA). Mr. Capwell led the association’s globalization taskforce which developed the organizational and leadership structure for the association’s transformation to a global background screening association. He also served on the association’s inaugural Global Board of Directors as a distinguished member. Bob served on the Ethics Committee which developed the Background Screening Agency Accreditation Program (BSAAP).
