ICBC has had a presence in the UK since 1995. Originally a Representative Office, the Bank has operated a UK registered and regulated Subsidiary since 2003, and a UK Branch since 2014. The Bank operates from its office located on King William Street, in the heart of the City of London.The Corporate Banking Department has 5 specialist industry teams: Commercial Real Estate, China Corporates, Large Corporates, Commodities and Structured Finance, and Project and Infrastructure Finance.Since 2013 the CRE team has built a strong and respected reputation in the market, initially by participating in large syndicated facilities, then moving on to partnering with other major banks in club transactions, in tandem with originating debt transactions on a bilateral basis. We have grown the Bank’s CRE lending book to over £2bn since inception, and continue to receive and meet ambitious growth targets year on year. Unlike other large international institutions in the market, our London based Credit Committee has autonomy to approve transactions of up to $300m USD equivalent locally per deal, allowing us to obtain swift credit decisions for our clients.The CRE Team currently consists of six members (plus a dedicated Senior Credit Analyst), allowing a personal, relationship based approach towards servicing our client’s needs, whilst utilising the Bank’s substantial balance sheet.

I was actively engaged in managing an existing portfolio with a loan book value of £1bn + with clients including private property companies, large family offices and UHNWI in the commercial real estate sector, and assisting with generating new business. My key duties involved;- Building deep and trusted relationships with UK and international private real estate investors from multi jurisdictions to facilitate their strategic plans for investment in the UK whilst meeting the Bank's risk and profitability requirements. - Underwriting and arranging a wide range of funding solutions across all of the key commercial real estate asset classes (including alternatives) and identifying opportunities to maximise income and business returns by collaborating with the Bank’s product partners and support areas.
