Executive Director, 2002–2010/ Deputy Executive Director, 1996–2002Work closely with the Board of Directors, 14 mayors and councils, Chamber of Commerce, and representatives in 3 legislative districts on a wide variety of economic development and environmental restoration and preservation issues. Plan, secure Board approval of, and administer a regular operating budget of approximately $30 million and approximately $10 million for capital projects, Supervise a staff of more than 120. Work closely with such organizations as Baykeeper and the Meadowlands Conservation Trust.• At the time of promotion to Deputy Executive Director, the Commission was 100% state subsidized. Led an initiative that has resulted in the agency becoming entirely self-sufficient and debt free and that enabled the return of $100 million to the state in 2003.• Worked closely with all stakeholders to design and gain approval of a Master Plan, which was adopted in 2004; have guided a 5-year cycle to adopt needed modifications. • Led the redevelopment of brownfields, abandoned industrial sites by brokering deals between old owners and new developers of properties valued at several hundreds of millions of dollars.
