Richmond, Virginia Area And Dresden

Working at Infineon site as a contractor for Applied Materials at Infineon Richmond providing support for the new FAB300 MES system which is running in production on Windows 2003 servers. Provided 24 hour support for the helpdesk and provided shift cover during the initial go live period of the system (which involved a month of 24hour support by a small group of people working shifts). And have provided out of hours call support whilst I have been working at Infineon in Dresden doing the same kind of work there. This involved many complex activities which included 3rd line support for 3 different production sites in different time zones. A great deal of work was done during this time of database updates using API’s called from MS Excel and database comparisons using MS Access and ODBC connections to multiple Oracle databases. The support also involved debugging and development of code when problems arose. This code was writing in a kind of Visual Basic language designed for the application. And the support of custom written applications like the GUI and framework behind it that was used for communication via the terminals used in the factory and all of the equipment and interfaces to other applications like SAP and Promis.

Providing onsite customer support for the manufacturing system. Continuation of the work that I did for the 120 day project.

Responsibilities: Predominately working on customer sites worldwide, implementing upgrades, installations of custom code written to the customer specifications, assessing and providing the required training. Team leader, managing on-going teams and projects across the sites. Representing Applied Material at liaison and project co-ordination meetings. Troubleshooting technical support to other consultants, sites and teams.Achievements:Major project worked at Infineon/Qimonda: Implementing new generation of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) both remotely and on site. This version uses Microsoft technologies, including Dcom, Com+, Active Directory, Message Queuing, as well as Oracle. This MES runs on multiple servers, as load balanced applications. On site visits have included Siemens - Penang, General Semiconductor – Ireland, OnStream – Netherlands and Hitachi – Germany; Infinieon – Portugal. Germany, Malaysia and Austria; Inter site visits to Portland, USA. I have spent a week at Microsoft, Redmond, USA installing a stress test system.Past Projects include General Semiconductor in Ireland, and then a customer in South Africa to upgrade an installation from a VAX to an Alpha system. This was complete in half of the expected time allocated for the project. I have worked on a 120-day project using COBOL on the HP UNIX system on an Informix database, at Renesas Germany where I am solely responsible for developing and delivering enhancements to Consilium software and customer written software.

Responsibilities:As a Programmer my main duties were to support our corporate WIP Tracking system for the two UK sites, this also involved being part of a 24 hour support team. This support also required use of the Performance Monitor system in order to extract statistical data on database performance and use of the DBO function to find specific deadlocks within the database.Achievements:With this newly acquired knowledge and through the companies TQM process I became part of a Development Team with the objective of developing a WorkStream Server, based around WorkStream using Callable Comets to automate standard WorkStream transactions. I then progressed to CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) where I played a major role in a company project which was to incorporate a new version of the WorkStream Server with cross-site and database abilities. This project involved me being sent to Assembly subcontractors in Newport, France and Malaysia for inspection and training of personnel on this system. I also wrote extracts from WorkStream and passing this information (by way of CSV) to MS Access on the PC to generated excel spreadsheets for users containing information from PROMIS (Wip Tracking System) and SAP/R3 (MRP System)I was also involved on a project for the implementation of a reporting and scheduling system called ISS. This involved installing the software directly into the WorkStream image and dealing with any build issues that arose, as wellas the rollout of this software across 4 sites in the UK.
